About Michelle

  Michelle is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Mental Health Wellness Coach in North Carolina and Tennessee. With over 15 years of experience, she began as an intensive in-home therapist in 2006 and has worked with children in foster care and juvenile systems, in school-based settings, and with adults. Her expertise spans outpatient and psychiatric services for mental illnesses, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities.


Michelle specializes in trauma- and stressor-related disorders as well as developmental disabilities. She provides coaching to children, adolescents, and adults facing life challenges, focusing on effective coping skills and problem-solving strategies to enhance quality of life. Additionally, Michelle offers Individualized Educational Planning (IEP) coaching for parents of children in special education and supports caregivers of children with disabilities or elderly parents.

Education & Training

Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Austin Peay State University. She continued her education at Capella University, received  a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling, and graduated Magna Cum Laude.  Michelle is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the state of North Carolina, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Tennessee and a Nationally Board Certified Counselor (NCC). Through EMDR Consulting, Michelle was trained and became an Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing  (EMDR) therapist.  Michelle also served as the Assistant to the President of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in Fayetteville, NC and served as a Board Member.

Professionally, Michelle has served diverse populations across various settings. She has extensive experience working with individuals dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and developmental disabilities.
